What Guests Are Saying
Zilpo Campground is praised for its beautiful location, cleanliness, and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite for many long-time visitors. While some amenities, such as hot water availability and maintenance support, have declined, most campers still enjoy the private, serene sites and the access to outdoor activities like hiking and fishing. However, issues like noise from other campers and limited store supplies have been noted, highlighting areas for improvement.

We very much enjoyed the stay, bathroom facilities were clean and well maintained. Our cabin was nice, but one big reason we booked there was due to the weather and the fact that there were heaters. Neither of our heaters worked and we had to drive a good distance to find a heater. We would love to come back, but we would have to make preparations for these kinds of things next time. Also; we were disappointed that the entire campsite was limited to 2 bath houses.

Super clean!! Campsite hosts at H loop were super kind and helpful when my fiancé killed the car battery by leaving the doors open. Campsites are nicely spaced. We will definitely return next season!!

I love how the sites are spread out to give us Some privacy as compared to other campgrounds that we have stayed at. The down side is that there are not many electric sites. The bath houses need to be better maintained. Some bath houses are closed, some faucets not working, some shower heads don’t work properly, many spider webs need to be knocked down on the ceilings, walls, etc. Parts of the campground is closed off limiting site availability especially on the weekend. Some electric sites roped off. It seems like many maintenance issues need to be taken care of.

Overall it was excellent. Bathroom situatoon was not! Otherwise the staff was friendly and courteous. Had a great time at the lake. Zilpo is an awesome campground. Of not for the bathroom situation it would be 5 star.

It was full hookup, but the hook ups were so far away I had to drive 100 miles to get an extension for my septic hookup. When you back in, the septic hookup is as far away as it can go on one end and the electric hookup is as far away as you can get on the other end. Even though I bought a longer septic hose in the past and a longer electric cord, they still weren’t long enough for this site. Didn’t appreciate the parking rules. I have stayed in the past is why I came back. Could have been better. Also, the septic wouldn’t hardly drain. Wanted to back up in the lines.

Bathhouses out of order. Tried to cancel due to family members( had to stay home under Covid 19 surveillance) illness and was unable or would have to pay anyway.
