I don't understand why car loads of kids are allowed to park in open campsites when they don't have a reservation. We see this everytime we camp here

Itβs always fun to stay on Assateague Island. The weather was perfect for August. The only thing to prepare for is the mosquitos. We have been there in November and it was also great.

It was a very nice experience. Just to see these horses and experience it and to see the horses in their own environment was priceless.

Off-season is the perfect time to enjoy everything as a teek is everything The National Park has to offer. Staff is very friendly and I felt like I had plenty of space and peace.

In September, The park is very peaceful and I was able to get an Oceanside site. I come from local area and enjoy just having a peaceful couple of days. This time it rained and was quite windy. Luckily there are still some local restaurants oben as I usually cook over the campfire. Lots and lots of horses turkeys and deer this time.

We always have a lovely time camping at Assateague, and this weekend was no exception! It's such a beautiful place to spend a weekend. Thank you to the Park Rangers for keeping things so clean and being helpful during our stay.

Our stay was nice, we were blessed with perfect weather for the weekend. Our campsite was on the bayside loop, which was the only spot we could get, so it was about a 5 minute bike ride to get to the beach. But otherwise the campsite was adequate and clean. Horses wandered through the bayside loop every day which kept things interesting. Our one complaint was the showers. No warm water, so be prepared for a cold shower. And, no lights, so take a flashlight or your iphone if you go in after dark. I don't understand why they can't install a motion activated light. The restroom facilities at the beach had them. Otherwise, we had a great weekend and will definitely return!
