We used this campground as a base for sightseeing in the D.C. area. It is a ten minute drive (or 2 mile walk) to the College Park metro stop. There is a parking deck at the metro station. Campground is wooded. You can hear some traffic, but really don't feel like you are surrounded by city.

I've stayed at many campgrounds, and it was a pretty good campground. I stayed two nights and spent a day touring DC. The Metrorail station isn't far away and all day parking was $4.95 with easy rail transportation to the Capitol. It could use screen doors on the restrooms to prevent insects from flying in. Additionally, there was only one shower in my loop, which probably isn't enough during peak season.

The campground was spacious and location was great for visiting DC. It was rainy a few days and not very good for charging my solar. I would visit again for sure.

Great place for Scouts. It was fun to spend quiet time with the group. We will be back.
