What Guests Are Saying
Greenbelt Campground offers a great location close to Washington D.C., providing a peaceful, forested setting with well-maintained sites and convenient access to amenities. Many visitors appreciate the clean campsites, hot water in showers, and helpful staff, making it a good choice for camping near the city. However, some guests noted that the bathroom facilities could use improvements in cleanliness and maintenance. Overall, it’s recommended for its affordability and accessibility to both urban and natural attractions.

The campground is very much a forest setting. The trails are well marked, and the campsites are clean and well maintained. The only downsides were not enough showers, only 1 men's and 1 women's per camp loop and the appearance of them were not only "well used" but not as clean as they could be. They are cleaned by someone, who is in a hurry and spraying a ton of disinfectant and washing it down with a hose does not make it clean. A little more effort would go a long ways. Other than that, and I am nit picking a bit, we would definitely stay again.

Arrived on a Wednesday in May. Couldn't connect to WIFI to reserve a campsite so I just went to the office and it was quick and easy.
Beautiful setting under hemlocks and rhododendron.
Several sites back up to a mountain stream.

Quick in/out, one night visit. Traveling in my 21 ft camper van, road in was well maintained although there were a couple of low hanging branches that might prove challenging to larger rigs. Site was perfect...fire ring, table, partly wooded, strong AT&T and Starlink signals. Definitely visit Buddy Attick park for fishing, dog walking, cycling, kid's playground, bird watching, etc... about 3 miles away. Highly recommend.

Great place to stay! We made excursions into DC & Maryland during our stay. It was perfect. Showers were a little crusty, but tolerable. Plenty of hot water. Recommend this park.
