About Greenbelt Campground

Greenbelt Campground is an urban oasis just 10 mi (9.9 mi) from Washington, D.C. This beautiful, wooded park is known for its safety, affordability, peaceful surroundings and National Park Service hospitality. Each campsite includes a picnic table and combination grill/campfire ring. Campsites have been improved using your camping fees to include new picnic tables and grills. The campground does not have water or electric hookups (primitive campground). A Loop is a Scout loop, youth or group Loop only.There is a RV limit of 30 ft/9 m (including tow vehicle) in B Loop and limited availability for larger vehicles (35 ft/10.6 m including tow vehicle) in D loop.

Lots of trees nearly no other campers in sight.

It’s a primitive campground right in the middle of a big city.

No water, no sewage, electricity, no noise, and nothing to bother you.

We had a very nice place, level and with much shade.
The showers and restrooms in B Loop could be renewed.
With a family of 4 using Lyft/Uber was a very good option.

The campground was well managed and conveniently located to get into DC. The rangers were helpful, knowledgeable, and ran an excellent campfire program that provided useful tips for navigating the 4th of July celebrations. Bathroom facilities were clean, but small for the number of campers when the campground was at capacity.
