Excellent camp site. Amazing Potomac views with towpath directly behind. Site 19 was spacious and had flat spot for setting up tent, either on the hill or by the park bench and fire pit. Portopotties and pit toilets were well maintained. Campground hosts were present and helpful. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately, there were squatters on my site when I arrived. Explained to them that I had the spot reserved and I had to leave for an hour or so while they moved. When I returned, they had simply moved down one spot when another family arrived and said they needed to move again. I talked with the camp host. They apologized and eventually took care of it.

It was cold, but if you have the proper gear it is serene, and a great campground. You cannot drive your car in but I did not find it much of a hassle. Would camp here again.

This area is nice. There are a couple semi private sites, but for the most part, they are all pretty open to eachother. The vaults are usually clean (as clean as you can get a vault anyway). All sites are fairly lose to the rive, so keep that in mind when bringing littles.
There is plenty near by in the way of food/restaurants. There is a brewery about 15 min down the road worth a stop.
All the historical sites are also close and easily accessible.
BRING BIKES. This is right on the B&O trail. Its a great walking and biking trail.
Harper's Ferry is also within 15 or 20 min. There are lots of places to rent tubes and ride the river.

Close parking with easily accessible campsites. Restrooms were clean. If you want to not have a long walk to the restroom in the middle of the night then choose sites 7,8,9. All sites with great views of the river. Sites were clean with fire/cooking grates in each. Flat areas for tents in every site. Short drive or extended hike to Antietam Battlefield sites and town of Sharpsburg.

    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
