Beautiful campsite! We were at site 19 and we're thrilled with the privacy we had. The campground was mostly empty as we were there early in the week . The campground host, Gary, was very personable and was on top of keeping the bathrooms clean and well supplied. The barred owls were plentiful and called to us every night . Lots of friendly people on the canal towpath, can't wait to go back.

Great camping area along side the creek. Spacious and although they say quiet hours is at 10pm, you could barely hear any noise outside of the bugs and nature. The camp site host was great and checked in most of not all campers and provided a resource for us to speak with should we needed anything. The fire pit area was convenient and most of the space was flat for pitching tents. In addition to the space, the bathrooms or portapotties was decent. Not bad.
A couple of suggestions would be, maybe a map of the camping areas near the bridge so you can locate where your site is and also a sink in the bathrooms if doable. Other than that, great site and would return.

Great site. Came with the ground frozen and pitched 3 tents. Picnic table very useful for setting up to cook over fire. Small but steep drop from towpath to campsite, looks fairly easy to slip if muddy and carrying gear. Lots of flat ground to sleep on. Good latrines. Seem well maintained.

From West Virginia: Take WV-480 through Shepherdstown across the Potomac River. Make the first right after the bridge on Canal Rd. Follow Canal Rd a few miles until you see the campsites on your right before Antietam Creek.
Antietam Creek Campsite is accessible via MD-65, which leads to Sharpsburg, and is approximately 10 miles from I-70.
