Fifteen Mile Creek Campsite offers beautiful views of the Potomac River and is well-maintained, providing a peaceful and affordable camping experience. Many guests enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, clean restrooms, and access to biking and paddling opportunities. However, some noted issues such as noise from nearby parties, trash left by previous campers, and limited water access at the pump, suggesting improvements in maintenance and oversight are needed.

Booked Site 2 for the weekend of July 16-18, someone was set up in the site upon arrival, no biggie, site 1 was available for the weekend so we told the couple to figure out how to book it on our behalf and left it at that. Got worse from there. Random car shows up at site 8 around 11.30pm. sounded like a dozen people but it was only 4. Loud talking, kids running all over and a lot of complaining as someone was struggling to start a generator. Not to worry, more folks showed up at 1am, and another about 2pm. Don't worry, a genius in the 2am crew managed to start the generator. Took the time, and the physical risk to amble over and remind the group of quiet hours and so on and was ignored, so I called the NPS number. The NPS said they send out a Ranger ...if they could wake one up. No dice as site 8 was up and firing on all cylinders around 7.30 am. Once again with the kids etc. New wrinkle, music... from a car... in the parking lot. Sweet little removable amp. We were indulged with the sweet sounds of central American love ballads, some kind of Tecno salsa and so on. We were gone by 9.30. what a train wreck.

Wanted to like the site and location, but ...

NPS was/is of little help

Website says 200 ft to hike in - but the gate to the campsite was locked such that we had to hike in from the gate...which is a lot further. Our group was ~20 people (half of which were small children) and it was a lot of work to carry all of the equipment from the gate. Other than that the campsite was great and everyone had an awesome time!

Booked this campground for the 3rd on a whim and was not disappointed. We had three sites 9-7 overlooking the river and it was a beautiful set up. Bathrooms were as expected. Water pump was not operational, which would have been nice. Locals drove to the boat launch at all hours of the night but aside from that, it was a quiet night. Would stay here again and take advantage of the river and trail.
