What Guests Are Saying
Black River Harbor Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting with well-maintained sites and proximity to stunning waterfalls and Lake Superior. Many visitors appreciate the privacy between campsites and the cleanliness of the facilities, despite some concerns about limited water access and steep trails. Overall, it’s a great spot for outdoor activities and a relaxing getaway, though mobility issues and the lack of potable water may be drawbacks for some.

The campground is quiet and well maintained, but the lack of even non-potable water is disappointing. The lack of cell signal is a plus. The nearby waterfalls along the Black River make for a pleasant hike and it provides a very good base for boating in Lake Superior. The camp hosts were very helpful and kind when we had to deal with a dead battery.

This campsite is amazing. Very clean and well kept, quiet area with nearby access to Lake Superior and Black River. Keep in mind that there is no running water in the campgrounds, so come prepared for that. The waterfalls were a very short drive away and were beautiful, but it took only a short amount of time to hike all of them. We loved our stay here, perfect for a weekend getaway.

Excellent campground. Would have been 5 stars except for no potable water.

This is a beautiful campsite. There are amazing views of Lake Superior just steps away. We stayed at site 15 and felt like it was reasonably private. We could see some neighbors but we had a lot of space to ourselves. There is no water and doesn't seem like there will be anytime soon but just requires some extra prep to get around. The one negative was the trash was overflowing when we got there until almost the end of our trip. We got there on Sunday so I think it was all from the weekend crowd but they didn't empty it until at least Tuesday.

Waterfalls are great! Try the North Country trail for a view from the other side.

Campground was a perfect location at the end of the highway next to the black river harbor and four waterfalls in between. It was an amazing experience in the UP, all other camping neighbors were quiet and polite. The only main issue is some of the camp pictures make the site look bigger than it is, but overall they were spaced out apart nicely. Theres little to no phone reception or campfire wood. Overall would recommend, very nice camping experience.
