What Guests Are Saying
Black River Harbor Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting with well-maintained sites and proximity to stunning waterfalls and Lake Superior. Many visitors appreciate the privacy between campsites and the cleanliness of the facilities, despite some concerns about limited water access and steep trails. Overall, it’s a great spot for outdoor activities and a relaxing getaway, though mobility issues and the lack of potable water may be drawbacks for some.

I went to the site the first day of my reservation and found it was a 1.2 mile walk to the beach. On the main road where people speed and there is no shoulder.
It was my fault for not thoroughly analyzing the maps and geography of the area before booking.
I stayed somewhere else instead.

The park's location is wonderful. Easy walk to Lake Superior. We loved the hiking trails.

It's a beautiful setting. Very limited facilities because water is still not available anywhere so you must be prepared for extended stays and find a water source in town. Campsites are pretty. Lake is beautiful. Honestly I think the ground could be a bit better maintained. The harbor side is pretty pristine but many campsites are semi overgrown and ours even had a downed tree in the middle of it

Campsite #18 is absolutely amazing! Hoping it is still there next year (the sloughing of the bluff overlooking Lake Superior is getting close to the campsite 😞).
The nearby waterfalls are amazing to visit. A little sad the Gorge Falls viewing areas were closed, but still amazing!
The only nit to pick is the lack of water...please make the water available Even if it is non-potable.

We knew the water was turned off and planned ahead with no issues. We had site 20, a beautiful site. Nice quiet campground. A nice little hike over to the harbor and beach.

Nice park, appreciated how the sites had dirt brought in to level them out so you weren't camping on a hill

A lot of shade at our campsite. It would be great during the hot summer season.

Great park with limited resources. No water, electricity or dump station. Great region to hike and explore.
