What Guests Are Saying
Black River Harbor Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting with well-maintained sites and proximity to stunning waterfalls and Lake Superior. Many visitors appreciate the privacy between campsites and the cleanliness of the facilities, despite some concerns about limited water access and steep trails. Overall, it’s a great spot for outdoor activities and a relaxing getaway, though mobility issues and the lack of potable water may be drawbacks for some.

I was absolutely impressed with the cleanliness of this park and how well maintained it is! Your rangers are absolutely fabulous! The sites were awesome, trails well made, and we were never disappointed once with our trip with anything! Makes me love Michigan that much more than I already do!

Campgrounds were nicely kept, and the your workers worked in the rain to cut the grass. This is a great campground with many well spaced sites. I would encourage the US Forrest Service to continue to work on getting water to the campground. You have the biggest fresh water lake in your backyard, and not a drop to drink. I am sure there are legitimate reasons for this, but did talk with others who have camped there several years ago when there was fresh water. One opportunity of improvement was the Sanitary Company used by the US Forrest Service to clean and drain the toilets. I went to one of the toilets after the service was completed, their were spills from the "solution" below on the floor of the toilets. I immediately left the toilet as the toilet was unsightly. At other US Forrest Service locations, the Sanitary Company after finishing with the withdrawal of the toilet contents, they will spray the toilet with a cleaning solution when finished. This was not done here, and would suggest cleaning after servicing the toilet needs to be completed.

Stayed in site 7. It gets afternoon sun and can be hard to find any shade otherwise nice site. Stayed 4th of July weekend and bugs were not bad at all but did need bug spray. Paved entrance and sites are paved as well. No camp host onsite.

This is a beautiful campground! We will definitely come back but make sure you know that most sites are gravel and metal tent spikes will not work well! We will be better prepared next time. Great trails off the grounds to the falls and lake!

Campsites were very clean, quiet and nicely spaced apart. Really a beautiful setting. We enjoyed the close proximity to the harbor so put kayaks in and enjoy the river, lake and beach!
