What Guests Are Saying
Ausable River Camping offers a beautiful and serene environment, with spacious, well-maintained sites and picturesque views of the river. Campers appreciate the remote, rustic charm and the opportunities for fishing and hiking. While there are some concerns regarding ticks, road conditions, noise from generators, and occasional issues with campsite bookings, many visitors still express a strong desire to return for another experience in nature.

Site 76 was awesome! Fishing access at site wasn't very good, but besides that, it was amazing! Plenty of easy fishing spots near which was great. Hard to find the road to the site. Not marked very well when you get to the Cooke dam site but maybe that kept traffic out too.

Sites 74-79. The sites were difficult to find. If you follow the directions on google or Apple, you will be taken to an area close by to not quite to the right spot. First off, the last major road directions will take you to is Cooke Dam Road. After that, it gets hairy. You’ll be directed to turn on to Jennie St then Arthur St. DONT DO THAT. Continue on Cooke Dam Road until you get to what appears to be a dead end/Private Property. You’ll pass Cooke Dam Boat Launch on the left and on the right is a big White House with a pole barn. Turn right there, pass the utility tower on the left and follow the dirt road to your site.
Site 76D. Small site. Ground not too flat. Steep slope to fishing area. I would suggest parking vehicle parallel to the site to block any on coming vehicles from driving straight into the site.

We’ve been camping here for the last 3 years and have always had a great time. The people in Glennie are always so welcoming and friendly. The camp is always clean and of course has the most beautiful views. We will continue to camp here as much as possible. Definitely a piece of heaven on earth. ❤️

We love camping here. The river access is great and the sites are typically pretty quiet. They're also typically very well maintained.

The View is wonderful. You have to be prepared for rustic camping . If you are tenting . Not all the sites accommodate travel trailers.
