What Guests Are Saying
Bay View Campground offers a beautiful and rustic camping experience along Lake Superior, featuring large, private sites under mature trees and clean facilities. Many guests appreciate the excellent cleanliness maintained by the camp hosts and the stunning beach access. However, some concerns were noted regarding the presence of generators, the need for a camp host for better quiet time enforcement, and issues with trash management. Overall, the campground remains a favored destination for its natural beauty and welcoming atmosphere.

A real gem on the South shore of Lake Superior. Large campsites and miles of sandy beach.

This national forest campground is our very favorite! The hosts Kathy and Pat keep the campground as spotless as one can possibly keep a national forest. All sites are spacious. A beautiful san beach is just steps down from all of the campsites that are on the shore. It's quiet, and the hosts ensure it stays that way. What's not to like if one is looking for a primitive campsite on the south shore of Lake Superior. Some of the sites are reservable and others are first-come-first-served. It truly is our favorite and the only campground that we stay for multiple days each time.

It is a perfect getaway to watch the sunset. Although the lake superior water is always cold, we had a great time in the water as well. Pat, who works there is an amazing man. He helped us park our additional cars at his location which is campsite 1. They are very strict about the number of cars that can be parked on the site which is only two. If you have additional cars, I recommend talking to Kathy or Pat at the site location beforehand.
The phone service only works for Verizon & Visible with a limited signal. Att & T-mobile does not have any cell reception. I recommend downloading offline maps beforehand when travelling through the upper peninsula.
We were able to accommodate two 8-person tents. Although you need to find an even ground for sleeping there were some bumps.
Walmart is around 30 min drive, coffee shops & grocery stores are at least 20 min drive.
No showers in the location but the nearest showers are at the Tahquamenon State RIVERMOUTH campground location. So, if you are planning to visit the Tahquamenon falls, you can go for showers on the way to the lower falls.
The restrooms were neat during the daytime which is when they do the cleaning but at night time there will be no light and you need to carry one.

Super clean, quiet, and serene campground. The hosts go above and beyond to make sure the campgrounds and facilities are well maintained. They even shared games for the families to enjoy.
