What Guests Are Saying
Lake Michigan at St. Ignace offers a beautiful campground with clean facilities and large sites, providing excellent access to the beach and stunning sunset views. While road noise from the nearby highway can be disruptive, especially during the day, it tends to quiet down at night. Campers should be prepared for mosquitoes, but overall, many guests appreciate the well-maintained grounds and friendly hosts, making it a favored spot for a relaxing stay by the water.

Just a bit short of excellent probably because I was in a hurry to get to Lake Superior in the Yooper. Came in during the night, explored a bit in the morning and left, but let me tell you site 015 is incredible. I could stay there a week.

We had gone through this campground several times while passing through the area over the years. The opportunity arose to get a spot for a night. We had some beautiful weather while we stayed. I just wish US2 was about a 1/2 mile away due to traffic noises..

Love this place! Visited the campground 27 years ago during our trip around Lake Superior and to my memory it is still the gem we remember. We will soon return before another two decades pass!

Nice campground directly on Lake Michigan. Campground Hosts are great and keep the camp and outhouses spic & span! Thank you! The only drawback is traffic noise from US2.

Cave-man sites worth filling up the freshwater tank to enjoy. We will be stopping for more than an overnight next time!

Very nice campground with a beautiful beach. Was surprised that the camp host was assessing an “early arrival fee”. There were blue paper notes on each site post saying there was an early arrival fee if you arrive before 2pm. When I asked the camp host about it, they said they charge an extra $22 if you arrive early, which is the cost of an extra night. They said it was national forest service policy, but we’ve camped at about a dozen national forest campgrounds in 2022 and have never seen this, and I could find nothing online about it in the camping regulations and fees.

We stayed here in a trailer. Not all sites are suitable for a RV or trailer. Probably more tents than RVs during our stay. Good privacy between sites. Easy access to Lake Michigan is a huge Plus.

Great camp site! Very clean upon arrival. As always, firewood is overpriced, but that’s a drop in the bucket for the experience. Road noise is a little much, but it’s also expected being so close to a major artery of the UP. Caution for the mice- took one home in our beach bag- quite the circus driving down the road when he came out of the bag!!
