The campsite had not been raked and I backed over a tent peg. Fortunately I didn’t puncture my camper tire. I didn’t see any staff the days I was there. Other civil engineer sites have tools available to help clean up , rakes , shovels and such.

Last review I wrote was a mistake. I was thinking of another campground. Pokegama Dam campground was very small but packed a big punch! Easy access from highway 2 and very nice sites along the Mississippi River. There was a very nice trail on the other side of the dam that was also nice and easy for an evening walk. Bathrooms were clean and park overall well kept!

Very clean, well kept grounds. I camped in the #12 spot for one night and moved to the primitive site #20. The only flat spot on #12 was the parking area, NOT good for a tent and sleeping on the ground. I put the tent near the river only to have the night security light shine right into the tent. In spot #20, the only flat spot was part on the campsite, part on the other site (#21), and part off the boundary. The sites were clean except for the dog crap I had to clean up from other people's dogs (NOT the fault of the facility). The facility had very nice, clean bathrooms and showers. Main complaint was the noise from the trains and the road, the noise was VERY LOUD! I stayed at the facility d/t work. I worked nights and did not get much rest or sleep because of the noise. It would be nice if a wall/noise barrier was constructed. Otherwise, for a day trip, very nice grounds, beautiful area.
