We were in Pokegama Campground in our Motorhome during the Judy Garland Festival 2024. The rangers erected a large screen and projected the Wizard of Oz movie for camp goers and the general public. That was exceptional….but it got better….they personally handed out free boxes of popcorn to the movie goers. Way beyond the call of duty and sooo impressive. A wonderful campground right on the Mississippi with great amenities and amazing employees.

Pokegama Dam ticks all the boxes...except mountains. It's convenient, priced right, clean, well-maintained, and level sites.

This is a great park that is well-maintained. Sites are level and have room for our motorhome and tow vehicle.
The bathroom/shower at the front of the park is clean. The bathroom in the center of the park has no running water and the typical smell that goes with this style of outhouse.

There was no one around who was any authority to assist campers.
There were empty electric spots that could not be reserved for a single night, even though no one was due in until the next afternoon.

Since we were in a tent, the traffic noise was deafening and therefore made it difficult to get a decent night’s sleep. It is only a bearable camping location for RVs.

The main restroom and showers were open. Only the women's restroom was open at the smaller restroom. The men's was locked.
