The sites and utilities (water & electric) were very good, but access to our site was not. Had to back a travel trailer uphill and around a corner without adequate road width to swing the front of our truck. Once in the site, it was fine. The restrooms are dated and could use a refresh, but we were very disappointed that the laundry building is closed and apparently is not going to reopen. While a good location and campground, overall, we had the sense that the US Army Corps of Engineers places a lower priority on this campground than it needs and deservers.

Piney Grove Campground is beautiful. The campground has water most everywhere you look. The campground is clean, and the host are truly very kind and helpful. Also the trees are beautiful in the fall. Great place for families.

Hosts were friendly and helpful. Lakefront sites were peaceful and a bit more secluded. Ours had a small beach area. Short hiking trail worked for our dogs.
Packing suggestion: bring hand soap for bathrooms as it is not provided.

We were very pleased with the campsite. Everyone very nice. The bath house is in lots of need of repair, both men and women’s.
