Town Creek is a wonderful park. Clean, and a friendly atmosphere. Everyone you come in contact with is helpful and willing to accommodate your needs. Just wish it was open ALL year.

First weekend in a while we could camp and our favorite place it Town Creek! They did a LOT of cleaning up over the winter. IN MY OPINION, cut to many trees. It's Mississippi. In the summer, it is HOT. Trees provide shade.... ANYWAY, as always, Town Creek was a great place to camp. Friendly, helpful hosts and Gate folks. Sites were clean, bathhouses were clean, roads were clean. No litter, no junk. As expected, a great relaxing time away from work/home! Thank you, Corps of Engineers, for such a great experience!

This campground was ok. The lot we had was not ideal. It had a big hole with trees beside it so there was no room on either side of the camper. The area behind us was very nice. Also they have limited full hookup sites if that’s something you require. Overall it was ok.

At one time this facility appears to have been an attractive recreational area. Now it looks abandoned and forgotten. Little maintenance other than occasional restroom cleaning. Is this place being phased out? Been to many COE campgrounds and none of them are as poorly maintained this one. I would appreciate a follow-up from a supervisor. Thank you.

There was a very rude camp host that made the experience less than enjoyable. Although we never actually got crosswise with her, she was always smoking at the gatehouse which was nasty as you had to stand in the second hand smoke to check in. She never bid us the time of day or showed any welcoming behavior, but said..."you better drive 10 mph in here, you don't want me screaming at you"

First, I love COE Campgrounds and this is no exception. I was in site #42, with full hook ups. Site was great, level concrete pad, fine gravel for the social area with a grill, picnic table, fire pit and lantern hook. The way the sites were staggered, it was very private.
Camp Hosts were amazing. Especially Michael. He went out of his way to make sure I was settled in and the other campers spoke highly of him.
This is a COE camp that locals come to, lots of kids, very polite may I add.
I was leaving just as the campers were setting up for Halloween. What a bash they put on for kids and adults.
Only downside, near Columbus AFB, lots of flight traffic during daylight. Also, expect leaves and acorns to fall, during October.
It would be nice if this campground would remain open year round. Not sure why it's seasonal.
I used my senior America Pass, got 50% off.....score.
While there, go visit the Ice Cream Shop, Commerce Street in West Point. The Pantry, outside of West Point is run by the local Mennonite Family. Amazing selection.
Also be sure to drive the Natchez Trace Trail, beautiful drive, lots of History. Up to Tupelo and surrounding areas for Battlefields and don't miss out on the Peppertown Restaurant. It may not look like much from the outside but the food is excellent.
I do plan on returning, next October for the Halloween Bash.

We enjoyed our stay. Our only problem was that the power was not working correctly. We needed a 50 amp and had only the 30 amp working when we checked in at our site. The host was very nice to supply us with a converter to be able to hook up where we could have power to our motorhome til it was repaired. We checked in on Monday afternoon at 4:30!and the service repairman came the following Wednesday. Thankfully, it was not hot weather and we didn’t require our air conditioner or our heating unit or we could not have turned it on. We just had to be careful not to turn on the microwave and coffee pot at the same time or hairdryer and microwave etc to keep from causing it to blow out our panels.
Otherwise, we had a great stay as we always do. We love it at Towne Creek - staff are very helpful and courteous.
Cellular South - desperately need better phone service and absolutely need WIFI coverage!! This would just make your location superior. We camp all over the country and this is the ONLY place that we have been that doesn’t have it.

We enjoyed the weather and the spot we camped at. But we could barely see the water for the overgrown weeds and broken fence in our view of the river. Also, the lady who was at the gate was very rude and unhelpful. If she is going to be there for the foreseeable future, I’m not sure we will return to this campground.
