Love it nice people and one of the best campgrounds on the water way.

We had an overall good stay at Town Creek. The gate attendants were very pleasant; Michael is outstanding and we hope he'll be there forever. He makes folks toe the line but does it in a kind and instructional manner.
We did have trouble, twice, with pairs of uncontrolled dogs literally chasing us across the campground road and into open space beyond. We love to walk in this park, as we do at home, but the dogs made us fearful for most of our stay. Michael did successfully address the problem, but ... We did notice a fair amount of "litter" along campground roads and, before we left, we picked up the butts and other small trash that had been on our camping spot when we arrived. We did not want the next camper to think WE were not responsible.
The river sites, which were re-habbed a year ago, were more "back to normal" than we expected. We enjoy camping where we can watch the traffic on the Tenn-Tom, the main reason we camp here.
We wish Town Creek could once again be open in the winter - we camped here in the winter regularly between 2000 and 2011, but maybe costs make it impractical.
We would also like to see more ranger presence - missed that.

Beautiful river views, watched barges go by. Also, great walking paths. Did not give 5 stars because the laundry facilities were locked and unavailable. Sure wish they were opened!

Always like to get a spot right on the waterway and Towne Creek has several of them. Great sites, well maintained. Friendly staff. Calm and peaceful.

We stopped for one night on a road trip. It worked well, but the restrooms need updating. The women's restroom was out of toilet paper in 2 out of 3 stalls. The water from the shower comes straight down the wall, so taking a shower is difficult. There was one other handicap stall & it might have worked better. Men's restrooms were not much better. I wouldn't stay more than a quick one-night stop.

We enjoyed our stay at Town Creek. The fishing lake could be improved by cleaning up the edge of the lake. While we were fishing the game warden came by and said that the Corps of Engineers was aware of the issue. Be sure to have your fishing license as they do check and it’s cheaper to have a license then to pay the fines. He indicated it would be a $650 fine each if we would not have had our license. All out-of-state persons are required to have a license for fishing so check the requirements. https://www.mdwfp.com/license/fishing/

We were only passing through, but upon arriving we wished we had more time to stay. Park was very clean, our site was very level concrete right next to the water. Such a beautiful place. Wish we would have had more time.
