River Point Lolo Campground (MT)

Toilets were very clean and the camp hosts were super nice, even brought us a bear box to store our food in for the night and pointed us to where to get firewood. Great location near Seely Lake and pretty campground.

Cannot believe some of these reviews. I reserved spot 18 for 1 night, you have to pay $8 to even make the reservation. Someone wrote that this was a shady spot, im here now in July and you get all afternoon west sun. A hot campsite , all sun. Some sites are big, but spot 18 is set up backwards. You have to back in, a narrow single driveway off of a narrow one way street. My door as most doors open on the passenger side. The table, fire pit and space is on the other side. When I open the door I get a bunch of bushes. 18 is a very small spot, shouldn't even be a campsite. Not a good one to reserve. And there is no view of the lake though it says there is. You have to walk down to the bridge.

Quiet, clean

It was a pretty area. The inner roads were a little tight with the trees but we managed. We walked to the lake a few times and walked across the bridge to the tallest larch tree. There were some noisy kids but other than that it was a beautiful place and I would stop here again on my way to Glacier NP.

Beautiful destination for camping. Vault toilets very clean. Very quiet patrons over a weekend. We were in site 27, tenting, and it is the reason I am not giving the experience 5 strs. We would likely not stay in this site again. There were definite low spots, especially around the fire pit, so much that our chairs were sinking in the mud. I understand that the weather had been rainy, but hauling in some gravel especially around the pit area would mitigate the problem. If leveling out the site(s) with gravel means a slight increase on the nightly fee, then so be it.

Great campground next to day use area. Paved, shady, well maintained and clean.

Always love River Point, nothing much to say Only downside is all the paths made over the years make some people think they can just walk right through your site like they own the thing. i can see where folks might find this to be obtrusive but i travel with a GIANT dog (who is a big softie, but doesnt look it) quite often, so most people take the hint :)
