We have stayed at Quartz Flat CG several times as we travel on I90. Other than the rest area and hiway noise it's a perfect place to dry camp.

This campground is just off of I90 and is accessed via the rest area at Quartz Flats. The spaces are large and well maintained. Even the back in spaces are away from each other to be a comfortable stay. If you are in Loop A or C the trains will not be an issue, they do sound their horn for a grade crossing on the west side of the campground. If you are train person, the BNSF has a main line from Missoula to Cour D Lane that runs by on the west side. You can walk through the tunnel under I 90 to access both sides of the facility. There is water available at various locations near the camp sites to fill containers or fill your freshwater tank on the way out. The dump facility is clean and is well equipped. There are several pit toilets that are very clean and one with running water near the dump station. I stayed in a pull through site, very large and will accommodate my truck and trailer that have a combined length of 50 feet. Generators are allowed and as far as the spaces are apart, you almost can't make out a running generator. Campfires in the fire pits are allowed, I have never been here and been told that a campfire was restricted. The camp host supplies 5 pieces of firewood per day, it is dry and seasoned and makes for a good evening fire.

Although the campground is near the Interstate, the closeness to the river and the relative solitude is very nice. Since I was traveling through the area, the convenience of this campground cannot be beat.
The hike down to the river via the trail from the campground Loop C is a great get-away. Once down the trail a little bit, the road noise fades away and you get to enjoy the bubbling sounds of the river. There are many markers along the trial, but I didn't find their purpose. If there was a trail map/marker brochure, they were out when I visited. Regardless, the hike is a pleasant one through the trees and surrounding area.

This campground is not the type of place you go to hang out in camp and relax. Road noise is pretty much constant so be aware of that if you're a light sleeper. I stayed there one night while passing thru and the noise didn't abate until well after midnight, and starts up well before dawn.
The restrooms were closed except for vault toilets, I had to bring my trash to a central point. Not a huge deal, but it seems recent cuts may have affected the campground conveniences.
I'm honestly not sure if I'd stay here again, mainly because of the noise from I-90.

Very clean campground. Hosts do a good job keeping it in top condition. A little road noise from I-90 but tapers off at night. Great place for a night stop off while traveling east/west on I-90.

Great campground for passing through. On the downside, you can see and hear the interstate - the rest area is across the road. The campground is clean, has potable water and dump station. You can’t really see the river unless you hike down to it.

Great spot right off the rest area! Quiet except for the train frequently went by. Host was attentive and the firewood was really nice. I didn’t use any but my camp neighbors did and it was nice that they experienced a campfire either a cookout.

Highway traffic was noisy, but quieted down after 9pm. The water was very fresh coming from the spigots. The hosts kept the place very tidy, especially the restrooms.
