Lovely little cabin, right by the river. Note to bring supplemental heat if staying in winter. It was probably 20 degrees in the cabin when arriving. The propane heater was not strong enough to heat the whole cabin that night. By the next night it was comfortable. No curtains over the windows. Used sheets to help keep heat in.

Beautiful setting right along the river. The fire pit was lovely to use as the sun set. The cabin is perfect for a couple or large groups - plenty of sleeping areas and room to hang out. Large kitchen but bring oil- plenty of cookware to use! Spacious, well maintained, and in a really special place. Highly recommend this place and this cabin!

We love this cabin! Right on the river with a great level place to set up chairs to enjoy the ducks & geese, in warmer weather you could walk right in! Had a wonderful evening under the stars at the fire-pit . The gas fireplace kept the cabin toasty. Beautiful wood ceilings and comfy beds. The kitchen lights weren’t working but USFS brought over several lanterns. We’ll definitely be back. No signs of the flies another user noted.

Wonderful cabin (well preserved) and location (right next to the Yaak River and right next to graveled Upper Ford Road) and amenities (fire pit and circle of benches). However, the propane heater was inoperable due to a broken thermostat that had a hand-written note to that effect and had still not been fixed. It got below freezing both nights we stayed there and I felt sick from my second Moderna shot and just couldn't get warm or comfortable. We still had fun in between my times in bed with weakness and the chills but I asked for--and received--a refund of the pricey rental charges. A Forest Service employee who came to pull stumps in the yard told us they plan to electrify the cabin in August, which I think is a big mistake with the unreliability of electrical service. I suggested they put in a wood back-up heat source: What are winter recreationists to do to keep the cabin and themselves warm when the power goes out on a cold winter day or night otherwise? And what are parents who love the lack of electricity for getting their kids off their devices to do if the kids can just plug in at a 'remote (?)' cabin? I know I would not rent this cabin again if it were electrified.

THOUSANDS of flies falling on us!!!! The entire place has a MAJOR fly INFESTATION!! We tried to ride it out, but we had them falling in our hair, in our food, in our sleeping bags, down our backs... we even tried to sleep in the kitchen where there were less flies, but half way through the night it got SO BAD we had to leave and drive 84 miles in the pitch black to find a hotel! SAVE YOUR MONEY!! Do NOT rent this place!! P.s. There is a faint smell of decaying death.

Great cabin in a peaceful location. Pretty standard compared to others. If you like a lot of nighttime lighting, bring some.

This was our 15th year at the cabin, the cabin was clean, the only problem was lack of tp which we rectified by going to town. The kids kayaked the river both days and we spent hours reminiscing about the experience we have shared. We have established a family tradition that the kids will carry on for some time. We thank the Forest Service for having the cabin and the help they have been over the years. One thing to pass on, we went to town for dinner and one establishment seems to have a problem in being courteous. but fortunately, they have a young lady employed their that did her very best to make up for the rudeness of the other lady. I will leave it at that.
