What Guests Are Saying
Avalanche Campground is highly praised for its beautiful, quiet setting and proximity to popular hiking trails like Avalanche Lake and the Trail of the Cedars. The campground is well-maintained, with clean facilities and attentive camp hosts, making it a great base for exploring Glacier National Park. While some campers noted issues with privacy and the lack of showers and lights in the bathrooms, the overall experience is considered excellent by many visitors.

Had a great week at B58! Plenty of room for 2 tents, but no hammock spots. Conveniently located next to the bathrooms, with 2 bear boxes very close by.

Amazing place. Large sites which gave us a sense of privacy. Clean washrooms. It was a gift to spend time there.

Information is very hard to come by. You don’t give out any campground maps and there’s no Internet signal in the park to figure it out, myself. I knew that there was a shower house in Apgar campground, but even the gentleman at the information desk couldn’t tell me where it was located. I was also under the impression they were no bathrooms and avalanche but in fact there were.

This was a lovely campground in Glacier NP. Spacious camp spots, clean restrooms, easy to get back onto Going to the Sun Road. Would stay again. We stayed at campsite B 81.

Loved our experience. All the campsites in Avalanche looked very nice - as we drove around to look at them. Bathrooms were kept clean. Large drive through areas for vehicles and plenty of space around campfire rings and for tents. There are community bear boxes. I'm glad they have them, just wish they had them for individual use at each campsite. Need to bring your own soap for handwashing and towels - bathrooms do not have either of these. We checked all the bathrooms in the area, just their norm.

Had a nice site near host, bathrooms and garbage can. Everything was clean neat. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. Campground is a great location for seeing Glacier and some nice hikes are close by.

No one to check you in. No individual bear boxes. There’s no service and no park rangers. Make sure you screenshot your site # and info before entering. There’s no one there to help if there’s any issues. The Park is absolutely beautiful though!
