Many guests appreciate the campground's proximity to the lake and hiking trails, making it a convenient base for exploring Glacier National Park. The campground was very clean and tidy. The sites had plenty of room and nice firepits and picnic tables. Water spigots and restrooms were conveniently located. My only complaint is the lack of shower facilities. To have only 4 showers for ALL 4 LOOP in Fish Creek is just ridiculous. On top of that there is no parking allowed, so it is hike uphill through the mosquito infested woods from the parking at the amphitheater to the showers. We often had to wait in long lines with many other campers. Each loop should have its own shower house. If that were the case it would be the perfect campground.

The bike path to the visitor center and buses was helpful.

The park rangers were very friendly and helpful. We arrived mid-afternoon and got one of the last two FF sites. Great site, very clean. Bathrooms and showers were clean, too! Would absolutely stay at this park again!

Fish Creek is great, our campsite was just feet from Lake McDonald. Fantastic. Lost of tall pine trees for shade. The Park Rangers were great, answered ALL my questions. Just a few minutes to the beginning of Going to the Sun Road. AND .. if you stay at Fish Creek you don't need a ticket to use the road. Just show your reservation printed out and your park pass. So the ONLY thing.. the facilities are dated. Like.. they really need an update. The bathroom services quite a few campsites and for the men there's 1 urinal and 1 toilet. There's 4 showers for the ENTIRE campground and only in loop A. We lucked out most nights but when we came out there were many people waiting. Also 1 of the showers mostly had cold water. Also you either walk pretty far and get sweaty on the way back (2022 was a heat wave) or you park and take a path. If the facilities could be updated the place would be fantastic.

Great campsite! Very clean bathrooms and the rangers went above and beyond to help us with finding sites in the park!

Ground is rocky and hard. We weren't able to get tent pegs in. Recommend bringing a hammer with a heavy head and some strong stakes. Or look for a campsite with a raised tent area.

I like this campground a lot. The sites all have a decent flat spot for a tent and there is an amphitheater with nightly ranger programs. The one drawback is that only one loop has showers in it so there can be a wait in the morning or evening. You can get around this by jumping in the lake for a quick rinse off of sweat and dust. One other plus is that I had good cell reception in the campground, in fact it was better than in the town of Apgar. (T-Mobile) One other big plus is that this campground takes reservations, an advantage when you're driving 2,500 mi and don't have to worry about hunting for a spot. In summer this campground is pretty much bug free as well.
