Great campground with very friendly hosts and rangers. The trails can be busy but beautiful. Our favorite hike was to Ice Berg Lake which was less busy. Grinell Glacier was fantastic but a very busy trail. We learned from rangers that everyone carries bear spray but few use it. The best thing is to talk or sing on the trail snd be loud, clap your hands when seeing a bear. We didn’t see a bear at all in all of glacier- except when driving out and they were black bears and they didn’t get close to us at all. And the layering of clothes is right on- it was chilly and rainy and then sunny and cool. It was the trip of a lifetime - the campgrounds make it possible. Oh yeah- the swift current hotel had a little restaurant w yummy pizza and great local beer! Enjoy!

THE CAMPSITE WAS BEAUTIFUL, the drive in was horrendous. They were redoing the road leading into the campsite & we popped a tire of our Subaru Forester (we have good tires). It took an entire day to solve the ordeal. The only man in the area who helps with anything vehicle-related relayed to us that he had seen 10+ people that week who popped their tire on the Many Glacier entrance road.

If staying here I recommend doing the Grinnell Glacier Trail (the parking lot fills up around 7am and stays full till the evening) & go to Many Glacier Hotel to watch the sunset on the mountains.

We were at site 18and it was not enjoyable. . Surrounded by two bathrooms and noisy dumpster. The worse part was the site was incredibly small. Trees and rocks made it almost impossible to get our travel trailer into and it was only 22 ft. Feel like the campers next to us may taken some of our site before we got there but weren't sure. Rangers should look for that. Also road construction wait time was outrageous. Only got 3 star because location for hikes was great.

Great campsite! Centrally located to many great hikes. Campstore very well stocked. Bathrooms very clean. When I go back to GNP I will try to book another campsite here!

We love Glacier Nat. Park. We have visited eleven times over the years, and hiked throughout the park. This year was very different in that most of the facilities were closed or had limited availability. The Swift Current store was open, but there were no shower or laundry facilities. The nearest shower was at St. Mary, outside the park, about 45 minutes away. We made do with what was available, but the most irritating Covid adjustment was the requirement for a pass to travel on the Going to the Sun Road. The pass is only available online. There are not wifi services in the Many Glacier camp ground, so it is a Catch 22. No pass, no ride, no WIFI, can't get a pass. As it was, we were forced out of the park after day 8 by fire smoke. Please, please, correct the horrible system that prevents people from getting a pass when in the park. Otherwise, we love the park.

Make Sure You Book the Correct Campsite! You are responsible for reading the site alerts and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment. Most campsites and driveways are very small and will not accommodate towed units over 21 feet (6.4 m). A limited number of sites can accommodate towed units 26 to 30 feet (8 to 9 m). Many campsites will not accommodate camper 'slide-outs'. If you must use slide-outs, please make a reservation at St. Mary Campground, located 22 miles (35 km) from Many Glacier and 1/2 mile (.8 km) along the Going-to-the-Sun Road. |

Entrance Fees. The park entrance fee is $35 per vehicle and $20 for hiker or bicyclist. The entrance fee is valid for seven days (and may be purchased upon arrival or in advance). The park honors Interagency annual and lifetime passes. |

Food Storage and Wildlife. Grizzly and black bears frequent the area. Food storage regulations are strictly enforced. When not in immediate use, all food, beverages, coolers, cooking and eating utensils, toiletries, pet food, or other attractants must be kept in a closed, hard-sided vehicle or secured in bear resistant lockers located throughout the campground. |
