About Many Glacier Campground

The Many Glacier Campground is located on the east side of Glacier National Park, at an elevation of approximately 4,500 feet. The campground is located about 22 miles from the town of St. Mary and the east entrance to Glacier National Park. Babb, Montana, is the closest community to the Many Glacier Campground and is located approximately 12 miles east of the campground. Babb has a general store, gas station, several restaurants and an U.S. Post Office. Cell phone coverage is not available in the campground. However, limited coverage is available in Babb. All sites require a reservation. Most sites have a 6-month booking window with a good handful having a 4-day booking window. Pleasant, small wooded sites with walkability to most trailheads, the lodge, and camp store. If you have a trailer make sure you check length restrictions for each site, or you will find you don't fit.

Really great spot. Close to the bathrooms and really close to the inn that had the restaurant/gift shop and closer to the showers as well. Really clean campground and good enough privacy considering how close sites are. Close to the Grinnell glacier hike, making it really nice not to have to fight for parking at the trailhead since you can just walk from your tent. 10/10.

Camp sites are good, but facilities are outdated. Some bathrooms have no light, or broken sink. At one point one was out of soap.

Fabulous place to camp with clean restrooms, forested spots near a river and most importantly some of the best hikes in Glacier are within walking distance so no stress about getting up super early find a parking spot. It was also nice to have the Swiftcurrent Inn within walking distance for showers, ice, ice cream and a cold draft beer if so desired.

Grinnell Glacier trail is well worth the hike for the views. Trails are well maintained and are a treat!

Policies & Rules

General

  • Make Sure You Book the Correct Campsite! You are responsible for reading the site alerts and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment. Most campsites and driveways are very small and will not accommodate towed units over 21 feet (6.4 m). A limited number of sites can accommodate towed units 26 to 30 feet (8 to 9 m). Many campsites will not accommodate camper 'slide-outs'. If you must use slide-outs, please make a reservation at St. Mary Campground, located 22 miles (35 km) from Many Glacier and 1/2 mile (.8 km) along the Going-to-the-Sun Road.
  • Entrance Fees. The park entrance fee is $35 per vehicle and $20 for hiker or bicyclist. The entrance fee is valid for seven days (and may be purchased upon arrival or in advance). The park honors Interagency annual and lifetime passes. 
  • Food Storage and Wildlife. Grizzly and black bears frequent the area. Food storage regulations are strictly enforced. When not in immediate use, all food, beverages, coolers, cooking and eating utensils, toiletries, pet food, or other attractants must be kept in a closed, hard-sided vehicle or secured in bear resistant lockers located throughout the campground.
  • Rules and Regulations. It is the camper's responsibility to be aware of all Glacier National Park Campground Rules and Regulations
  • Maximum Stay. Camping is limited to 14 days between July 1 and Labor Day, and 30 days between Labor Day and June 30.
  • No Hookups. There are no electric, water or sewer hookups at individual campsites. Shared water spigots are located throughout the campground. One dump station is conveniently located at the entrance to the campground.
  • Generator free sites are # 48 - 59, 71, and # 86- 102. Other sites allow generator use only during the hours of , , and .
  • No Phone or Cell Connectivity. There is no public phone or cell phone coverage in or near Many Glacier Campground. The closest phone service is 12 miles (19 km) east in the town of Babb, MT.
  • Maximum Number of Tents. Campsites allow a maximum of 2 tents per site.
  • Hammocks. Hammocks must be hung over non vegetated areas using one inch straps or wider. Vegetation may not be trampled to access hammocks.
  • Renting an RV or trailer? Per 36 CFR 5.3, commercial business may not take place inside Glacier National Park. This includes RVs and trailers being delivered within Glacier's boundaries. Renters of these must drive them in themselves.
