Our 4 night stay at St. Mary's campground was very enjoyable. The campround was very clean and the campground personal were friendly and helpful. Our site was a bit tight for our 30' travel trailor but we did not spend too much time at the site. It goes without saying that Glacier National Park is beautiful. The trails for hiking were well marked and maintained. Early morning hikes are recommended to beat the crowds. Parking and trials did get crowded.

No private bear boxes at the sites. They’re shared. However, we had the BEST campground hosts during our stay. We enjoyed a lovely walk off the C loop (I believe it was C). Views are incredible. Visitor Center nearby was really great. Highly recommend!

Our campsite was awesome! Very close to restroom, and not too close to other surrounding sites. Also, the east side of Glacier is the quiter side, which we enjoyed; no circling to find parking or anything like that.

Beautiful campground but could use some practical improvements.
1. Four functional showers with hot water
2. Larger multi-lane dump station. This is a very large campground for a single dump station even the single is super tight such that if more than one user the entrance/exit road is blocked. This also can cause issues if using the dump or fill on check-in or midway through stay. A separate water fill spot would help this situation too.
3. Zero RV spots offering power hookups seems utterly absurd in the 21st century. state/county/private campgrounds are not like this, when will national park campgrounds enter the 20th century?
4. Unnecessarily restrictive generator rules. I witnessed many dogs left in RVs all day without A/C on hot days, this is because of a combination of rules. Dogs essentially must be left in the campground because of the rules. Because of #3 above the A/C cannot be left running for them. Change #3 above and this problem essentially solves itself or, in the mean time, at least allow generators to be run during the full day so that the pets can have A/C at least on hot summer days.

We were able to make last minute reservations by checking on open campsites at St Mary's on rec.gov app. That allowed us to drive Going to the Sun without a vehicle reservation. Plus, the view from the campgrounds are wonderful, St Mary's Lake is right down the road and the river is a short walk from A loop. We were at the end of a 9 week road trip all over the country and were so glad we were able to include a visit to Glacier at the end of the trip.

The campsite offers a beautiful view of the mountains and is right next to the St. Mary visitors center. Unfortunately, it rained the day that we arrived and there was a huge puddle covering a substantial part of our site, making it hard to park our car and get out without stepping into it. The bathrooms were nice. Note that this campground does not offer much shade.

Be prepared for lots of wind. Our tent was a bit too large for our site at B85 but we appreciated the view and the privacy brush around us. Everyone abided by the 10pm quiet time rules, and the showers and bathrooms were updated and clean.

Site we had did not have trees do it was hot and windy. Our tent was staked but blew 3 feet even with stuff inside. Long wait at the showers , not all open and one only had cold water.
