Holter Lake CC is a nice campground. Lots of fishing, boating and personal watercraft activity. There is a designated swimming area that is nice. There is a small convenience store in Wolf Creek that has most necessities if you forget something.
Site 24 we had a 28' trailer, tent, 3 cars, 7 people and 3 dogs. It was a tight fit bet we enjoyed it. Camp hosts were marvelous, bathrooms were clean and for the most part the campground was quiet. Only thing that keeps this from a 5 star is that the site had a good deal of height difference from side to side that required major blocking to level the trailer. Other than than a great place. Lots of potable water spigots available.

It bothers me a lot, especially on weekends to try and get a campsite reservation and then see so many sites that have been reserved and not used. It seems like because the cost of a campsite is so reasonable that many people reserve several sites during the season and then don't take the time to cancel when they get busy with other things or just don't care if they have tied up sites that could be used by others. The camp host told me it is just too difficult to enforce people who simply pay for a site and deny others a chance to use them. I really think there should be a stiff fine for leaving a site unused. Or the parties that abuse this privilege should be warned and then denied further reservations for the rest of the season.

Tent sites are quite close together, so it can be noisy, as many people do not follow the "Quiet Hours" that are supposed to start at 10 p.m. Also, the tent sites are very close to the boat launching ramps, and many people start to launch their boats as early as 5 a.m. Adding to the noise from trucks, boats and trailers are the loud conversations that occur during the process. Perhaps place some signs asking people to try to be quiet in the early morning hours. Campground is clean and convenient, the ground is soft enough to easily insert tent stakes, and there aren't any better options nearby, so I'd stay there again but be sure to bring the best earplugs available.

The ground keepers have taken great care of this place this year, still wish the first beach got sand. Thank you!

Great campsite. Not much privacy as there is little to no trees but sites were spaced apart. Gravel pads and tables were tidy and bathrooms were cleaned regularly
