Great campground. Well kept. Staff was great as well. Only complaint as a camper was the guys running generators in their boats parked in the slips all night long. Slips are close to the camping area. Not peaceful in a very peaceful setting.

It was very clean and well maintained. As the trees grow in the newer area the shade will improve. Having a clean out site closer than Helena would be great!

Going in early May has its advantages and disadvantages. While you have a larger choice of camp spots, and more isolation, the weather will be a challenge as Montana springs can be cold, snowy, rainy, windy. Be prepared to entertain yourself inside if need be. But that's what makes Montana so wonderful! Beautiful lake and area. Fishing was great. Camp hosts terrific. No potable water while we were there due to waiting for results from well tests.
