Bathrooms and other facilities were super clean. we reached late at night, camped and then drove through Valley of Fire the next day, highly reccomend!

I had an overall wonderful experience, especially with the presence of the fire ring and grill. The campground was clean and well maintained, and well laid out. The negatives are as follows: no garbage can in the restroom; and no light at night in there. I like the presence of a convience store right next to the campground.

Campground is very nice with restrooms (bring own toilet paper just in case) Nature surrounds you …donkey, fox, coyote and owls in November (snake and scorpion signs, but too cold this time of year for them)

#17 has a potable water faucet nearby and at the end for great privacy. There are donkeys that sound off in the middle of the night, so you’re aware. I enjoyed my research retreat. I’ll be coming back. Thankfully, I’m not far.

Access to the bay was great from boat launch and the campground was quiet. Close to general store as well and that was nice. The ladies restroom had rusted out toilets that were quite unattractive….. usable, but.

I really dug this place! The campground is super rustic, to be sure, but the ranger came by every morning when I was there (at least, on the weekend mornings) and restocked restrooms.
What is awesome about this place is that it is super rustic, easy desert camping, but if you are an open water swimmer (which I am) it is remarkable swimming -- apart from a few fishers, I have the lake to myself.
And to think it's only 1 hour out of Vegas! I'm definitely coming back.

I will never ever camp at echo Bay again I was scared I heard donkeys in the middle of the night hyenas laughing and coyotes everywhere around me it was the most horrible frightening experience I've had camping ever in my life I will never ever go back to echo Bay and I would love it if you would maybe give me a free stay at a different campsite because I had the worst scariest time at echo Bay. I would not recommend going there at all at least not going by yourself and I wouldnt recommend going there " at all "even if you're with somebody. those noises I heard woke me up in the middle of the night. Sounds of loud donkeys, hyenas and coyotes ....scary . Very creepy...

Lake Mead NRA does require an entrance fee in addition to camping fees. Entrance fees can be purchased on rec.gov or at entrance station locations.• Site capacity maximum is eight persons and four tents or one camping unit (motorhome/camp trailer).## Reservations are required for all sites through this reservation system and can be made the same day as arrival. Cash is not accepted, and sites can only be booked through rec.gov.• Each site can have a maximum of two motorized vehicles, four motorcycles or a combination thereof if towed or carried on or by a camper. • Motor vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas only and may not be driven onto the dirt or across irrigation ditches. • The campground can accommodate RVs, but there are no hookups. • Camping is limited to a total of 90 days at Lake Mead within any consecutive 12-month period.• Camping is limited to 30 days in any developed campground.• Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Please do not create or sustain unreasonable noise, including generators, during those hours.• All trash must be disposed of in appropriate trash or recycling receptacles. • Pets must be kept on a leash not to exceed 6-feet in length and should not be left unattended. Never leave your pet in a closed vehicle. Pet excrement must be disposed of in trash containers.• Please do not feed wildlife. Wild animals can become dependent on handouts of food and lose their fear of humans. This is dangerous for the wildlife and you. • Trees can provide refreshing shade and a windbreak for campers. It is illegal to cut or damage any tree in a national park.• Fires are permitted in grills, fire rings, portable stoves, portable barbecues and portable fireplaces in all campgrounds.• Fires should not be left unattended and must be completely extinguished with water, doused and stirred. • A campground host may be available onsite to offer assistance. Wireless internet (WIFI) is not available at any campgrounds managed by Lake Mead National Recreation Area~ Phone service works best by the Echo Bay Ranger Station. Other parts of the area have limited to no cell service~ |
