What Guests Are Saying
Echo Bay Campground offers a lovely, quiet environment with beautiful desert views and entertaining wildlife like burros and roadrunners. The campground is clean and well-maintained, with spacious sites for a relaxing stay, although some sites are small and close together. While there are challenges such as limited shade, occasional maintenance issues, and the absence of a camp host, many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and convenient location near attractions like Valley of Fire State Park.

It's in a nice location with beautiful vistas. It's quiet and there were only a few campers when we were there. However, the 2nd night of our stay the bathrooms were padlocked. We were told by the campground host that the Park Service had told them they had painted the floors and padlocked the doors. The campground host suggested that we use the bathroom by the fish station, which was about 3/4 mile away and since we were camped in our truck camper, we had no way of easily getting to that bathroom. We had intended to stay another night, but left the next morning. We did stop at the bathroom by the fish station on our way out and found it to be extremely dirty and seemed neglected. I'm sure it in it's heyday this was a wonderful campground area, but it feels more like a sad, forgotten ghost town now.
On the plus side, it's relatively close (about 13 miles) to Valley of Fire State Park and was our chosen back-up since we weren't able to get into that campground.
There is limited cell service (Verizon) in the campground but if you walk up to the main road the service is good.

Great spot to camp if you want to check out Valley of Fire which is close. We liked the lower level with great the views.
There is a camp host on site.

Old campground that badly needs a lot of repairs and maintenance. The location is the only good thing about it.

The potable water is excellent, but would be nice it the annual drinking water quality report were posted at the restroom billboard or something. The old hotel has been torn down. Good. The original, IMMACULATE, boat ramps at Echo and Overton have been demolished at your expense (>$10,000,000). Sad and dumb, not necessarily in that order.
L-O-V-E the fact cell service is virtually nonexistent in the campground, proper.
Would be nice (wise) if they would fix the drip irrigation system S-O-O-N (i.e., yesterday) so the lovely oleanders (i.e., wind breaks) and palms don't die. The asphalt in the campsites as well as the roads in the campground severely needs repair/maintenance before it reaches the point of being unsalvageable. The restrooms are very old, but clean and functional even though the stall doors/latches could use some maintenance. The campsites are well-maintained and the campground hosts are very friendly and helpful!

Your standard campground but with stunning views in every direction. It was a little cold in mid-March but we can't wait to come back when it's warmer.
