It’s hard that the water is down but when electricity is not working at the campground and things are not really all that clean, it seems to fail in comparison to bolder Beach. It’s too bad really that this thing has been neglected such as it has been.

We were not aware the campground had gone to an on line reservation system but had no problem booking our site. We missed our usual host, Bob. Hope he's okay.

The couple that manage the campground are terrific people. Very knowledgeable about the park and willing to help whenever they can. I recommend either walking or driving to the Shoreline Trailhead (to locate enter "449M+C9 Boulder City, NV" into Google Maps), and walking the Shoreline Train. It parallels the Las Vegas Wash that empties into Lake Mead and is an almost flat hike.

The site was clean and overall well maintained. I am giving only 3 stars because a man slept on the floor in the men’s restroom all night. He was there when we used the facilities at midnight and still there sleeping at 7am the next morning. There is only one public restroom facility at this campground so there was no other option but to step over this person to use the toilet.

We have stayed at Las Vegas Bay for literally decades. Though it looks like many of the trees & bushes are being allowed to pass on, it is reasonable given the shortage of available water in the Southwest. This does not diminish the quiet & peaceful surroundings of desert vistas, sounds of coyotes in the wash at night and owls in the trees. It is very close to Lake Las Vegas Village where there are multiple choices of restaurants.

Neighboring camper listening to Rage Against the Machine on full blast til 10:30pm, followed by lots of moving their vehicle around. And here I thought picking the no generator area would be quiet.
Not that you can do anything about it, but what's with the lights at the RV/boat storage?? They don't seem to even be making an attempt to shield them downward. It's really amazingly dark out there which is really awesome that close to Vegas and then there's numerous excessive flood lights to ruin it. Why would they need to be that intense with lighting when they are closed? At least top shields please, sheesh.

Located just minutes from Las Vegas off Lakeshore Road within the park between near the city of Henderson, Nevada. Take Lake Mead Parkway east to the park entrance. Follow the road about 2.5 miles. Turn left onto Lakeshore Drive and take your first left onto Las Vegas Campground Road. You’ll arrive at the campground in about 1 mile.
Policies & Rules
General
- Lake Mead NRA does require an entrance fee in addition to camping fees. Entrance fees can be purchased on rec.gov or at entrance station locations.• Site capacity maximum is eight persons and four tents or one camping unit (motorhome/camp trailer).• Each site can have a maximum of two motorized vehicles, four motorcycles or a combination thereof if towed or carried on or by a camper. ## Reservations are required for all sites through this reservation system and can be made the same day as arrival. Cash is not accepted, and sites can only be booked through rec.gov.• Motor vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas only and may not be driven onto the dirt or across irrigation ditches. • The campground can accommodate RVs, but there are no hookups. • Camping in the park is limited to a total of 90 days within any consecutive 12-month period.• Camping is limited to 30 days in any developed campground.• All trash must be disposed of in appropriate trash or recycling receptacles. • Pets must be kept on a leash not to exceed 6-feet in length and should not be left unattended. Never leave your pet in a closed vehicle. Pet excrement must be disposed of in trash containers.• Please do not feed wildlife. Wild animals can become dependent on handouts of food and lose their fear of humans. This is dangerous for the wildlife and you. • Trees can provide refreshing shade and a windbreak for campers. It is illegal to cut or damage any tree in a national park. Please do not hang hammocks or other items from plants/trees.• Fires are permitted in grills, fire rings, portable stoves, portable barbecues and portable fireplaces in all campgrounds.• Fires should not be left unattended and must be completely extinguished with water, doused and stirred. • A campground host is available onsite to offer assistance. Wireless internet (WIFI) is not available at any campgrounds managed by Lake Mead National Recreation Area
