I had the best time at this campground! We were in site 22 which was right next to the camp hosts, and the camp hosts were the nicest and most welcoming couple! Throughout our time there they always had time for a friendly conversation. The walk to the lake was about 10-15 minutes through beautiful scenery, and the lake was breath taking! There is also a lodge and restaurant nearby where you can buy necessities and grab a bite of food/drink. This might be one of my favorite campgrounds that I've ever visited. The stars at night are incredible and you are surrounded by beautiful trees and meadows. Super family friendly also and clean public restrooms!

It's a magical place. Don't forget to bring your own booze. The lodge charges airport prices on drinks.
It's also a hike *(about a mile) to get to the beach. Advised to drive to the beach, unload, go park, and then drive back to your camp.

Wonderful location. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Would be nicer if music players were banned!

Wonderfully quiet on 4th of July weekend, despite being right next to the highway. Lovely ~1/2 mile hike to the lake.

The campground was very clean and quiet. It was so nice to not have people partying all night long. The one thing we found inconvenient and a deterrent for wanting to come back in the near future is no bear boxes in bear country and we paid $30 per night. We would have expected to pay less per night to have to put dirty coolers in the cab of our truck.

I don't want to recommend this site because camp sites close to the Bay Area are becoming so hard to reserve but this really is a wonderful campground UNLESS you are uncomfortable with the camp procedures required for bear country. We camp in Yosemite most years and they are far more strict but we were with a family who was a. freaked out by bears entering the campsite at night, and b. annoyed that they had to secure food and scented things at all times. We think it's totally worth it to have walkable access to the lake and roomy campsites. Also, most people were good about mask wearing which may or may not be relevant by the time we're all camping again!

Wonderful experience and friendly host. Large site as well near the trail down to the lake. I will definitely return.
