Awesome place. Who knew lava could be that widespread and cover miles and miles of land? The campground and restrooms were clean and the visitor center was very informative. The showers were undergoing a remodel and are going to be closed for a few months but that was ok with me.

Site 5 is absolutely not level by any stretch of imagination. You have to park perpendicular to the road and use 4 inches of leg blocks and 1 inch blocks under the downhill side tires.
Other than that... what a wonderful, peaceful, place❣️
The people are awesome, the scenery top notch and the bath house is the best I have ever seen.
Coming back again in April 24.

Great place to stop when traveling across 380. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Today 10/25/2023, be advised that the bathrooms/showers are being remodeled and only pit toilets are available. According to camp host, this may last 6 to 8 weeks.

Busy park with campers and hikers coming all day long. Only issue we had was the shower house was closed down for remodel on our 2nd day, causing us to have to dump our tanks halfway through our stay. Lava flow hike was very interesting. Our site was #2 and was sloped, but doable. Pull through site with fire ring, grill and covered picnic table. Had water and 50 amp service.
