What Guests Are Saying
Gallo Campground offers a beautiful and well-maintained camping experience in Chaco Canyon, with stunning views, amazing night skies, and friendly campground hosts who provide valuable information and assistance. The campground is clean and organized, featuring level sites and access to hiking trails and ancient ruins. However, visitors should be aware of the rough access roads, limited privacy between campsites, and occasional issues with water and restroom facilities.

This is a beautiful place to see stars at night and an amazing place to camp. The road in can be a bit rough and muddy, but it’s totally worth it.

A group of campers were yelling, flying a drone, and flashing lights until 3 AM, and there was no camp host to deal with the problem.

Beautiful campground with very well maintained facilities! I highly recommend! the warnings about this site are not to be ignored though! there is NO food, water, or fuel available in the park outside of the visitor center. and no fuel PERIOD in the park, it is twelve miles of rough dirt road to the nearest paved road to the nearest food or fuel.

This was the first visit to this campground and the ruins. Clean bathrooms, accessible to our camp site. The location was amazing. Doing reservations on line was pretty easy. The staff at the visitors center were so amazing. They were very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to our next trip ( just not in July), it was way too hot.

Loved being there and camping out for a night. Love the New Mexico starry sky! And Chaco Canyon is magical! If / when I come back I will stay longer.

It was very quiet. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Summer is nice because there are few people so we enjoyed our stay.
