What Guests Are Saying

Black Canyon Campground is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and beautiful surroundings, making it a favored spot for campers. The spacious sites, friendly camp hosts, and proximity to hiking trails and Santa Fe enhance the overall experience. However, the lack of water has been a consistent issue, and some visitors have reported problems with caterpillar infestations and site accessibility.

Stayed here several days in the fall. Camp “host” was extremely short and rude. No firewood for sale as advertised, and extremely standoffish and unfit for public service. Holed himself up in his RV most daylight hours and each evening well before dark, and posted a sign on the door with the curtains drawn in large block letters, “OFF DUTY, DO NOT KNOCK.” Otherwise, nice campground with good facilities and quiet atmosphere a very short drive out of Santa Fe.

This is a lovely spot with great simultaneous access to the Santa Fe Mountain area, and town. Overall a really great place for car camping - quiet and beautiful, with spacious sites. The two issues we had were, a) the hosts were not the friendliest I've experienced, and b) if you happen to be next to or down-wind from a latrine, it will wreck your experience.
