When we were there 9/22/2021, the campground was not crowded, only about 25 RV's and several tents. Generator hours are from 8:00AM till 8:00 PM, which is much two long. Two hours in morning and evening would be better. Most sites are small so check the size of site to see if you can fit. Restrooms were old but clean. No showers or hot water.

A great spot for a quieter getaway. We had a nice area by the creek to ourselves and everyone was spread out. Not yet teeming for the Fall Colors crowd and not as many people as around Newfound Gap. Great for waterfall trips and soaking in the creek.

Been coming here for the better part of 5 decades. Always a great stay. Occasional weather issues. But that's to be expected. No bear problems even though they warn of possible visit. Never had any theft or criminal issues. Great family campground.

The staff was helpful, going the extra distance, and friendly. We were fortunate to arrive the week before Labor Day when most kids had already gone back to school (mine had not). What we had was a campground pretty much to ourselves. We were one of maybe five tents in the campground area next to the river.
I look forward to returning next year to do some tubing!

Campsites have less privacy than I expected from the map but it didn't hurt our experience at all. The campground staff was super friendly and helpful and the setting is beautiful. Very convenient access to waterfalls and tubing, which we highly recommend. Bryson City is a fun town with great food and nice people. We highly recommend breakfast at Everett Street Diner (it's worth the wait!), dinner at Nantahala Brewing Company, and sandwiches from the High Test Deli.
