About Cedar Point Campground

Cedar Point Campground and Recreation Area is located in eastern North Carolina at the junction of the White Oak River and the Bogue Sound, immediately adjacent to the Swansboro Inlet. It is within 1 mile of full service shopping, and within 2 miles of NC's Crystal Coast and the barrier island beach community of Bogue Banks. The campground is extremely busy and reservations are recommended but must be made 3 days in advance. Of the 36 campsites, 4 are considered first-come, first served campsites that cannot be reserved or held, so a person must physically be there with their camping equipment to purchase the campsite. Cedar Point campground has the option to use Scan & Pay system, but by the rules of recreation.gov it may only be used for first-come, first served sites. Please make sure to contact a campground host to ensure availability before paying for any campsite. Failure to check with the campground host for availability may result in the loss of your camping fee.

This was our first time camping here. We have family in the area and will be back. Very clean and pleasant campground. Restrooms and showers were clean.

Nice little campground full of nice folks. There's a lake a short distance away with a dock and hiking trails. Shower stayed hot as long as I was in it and bathrooms were cleaner than most I've seen. Overall not a complaint to mention.

The park has a very nice nature trail that is well kept. The boat ramp area is serviceable and nicely located near the campground. The campground has very nice sites but it needs a fair amount of refurbishment. About half of the potable water spigots are broken and not usable. Thus, you must walk or ride some distance to get potable water. The bathhouse is significantly run down and has malfunctioning toilets and other smaller issues. One of the malfunctioning toilets has been in this condition of at least 6 months. A small repair could have fixed this issue. Some of the issues with the campground could be repaired for a small amount of money. It is a shame that the Forest Service cant or wont fund the repairs that are needed to make this campground a very desirable place to stay.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. Close to the cost but far enough away to avoid the madness of being right on the coast. The hosts were very friendly and the campground maintained in excellent condition.

4

Very nice park with easy to navigate roads and large sites. Electic only but the water and dump station is nice and convenient. Most of the sites have a lot of shade. Mine didn’t (13 or 31?). Great hiking trail nearby into the salt marsh. Emerald Isle beach is beautiful and feels more like a locals beach.
