Love this campground. Has a large number of great sites. If you wanted shaded sites they are available. If you want sunny sites for your solar panels they are available. About half the siges are first come first served. Has added more gravel to some sites where it was needed. Still more gravel needed but glad to see some improvements. Bathrooms and showers are great.

Our family had such a wonderful time at Standing Indian. We had a group site for our whole family and it was absolutely perfect! Lots of room for the kids to run around safely. The staff was wonderful and very attentive. We love Standing Indian!!

From Franklin, North Carolina, take U.S. Highway 64 west approximately 12 miles, passing through Winding Stair Gap. Near the bottom of the mountain from the gap, turn left on West Old Murphy Road (State Route 1448) and watch for a directional sign for the campground. Go 1.9 miles and turn right on Forest Road 67 at the Standing Indian Campground sign. This is a paved road. Go 1.7 miles and turn right into the campground.
The campground is accessible via U.S. Highway 64, which is approximately 12 miles from Franklin, North Carolina, and connects to State Route 1448 (West Old Murphy Road) leading to the campground.
