What Guests Are Saying
Standing Indian Campground is a well-maintained and beautiful location, appreciated for its spacious campsites, clean facilities, and peaceful atmosphere. Visitors enjoy the remoteness, access to hiking trails, and the friendly staff, making it a favorite destination for many. However, some campers noted issues like locked restrooms, wet firewood, and occasional generator noise, but overall, experiences remain positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Really a beautifully designed and maintained campground. Having showers available is really nice. Bathrooms and showers in my loop (Loop 3) were cleaned regularly and well. The only suggestion I would make is to designate bathrooms as usable by both male and females, instead of having one for males only and one for females only.

We reserved one of the spots by the river and it was great. Sound of the rushing water helped put us to sleep. Location to the bathroom was excellent and the showers were warm. The volunteers in the office were nice and helpful. Only complaints are the shower heads didn't push the water out very far from the wall and the the bathroom trash was not taken out when it became smelly. Campsites would also have been better if it had a wider and raised platform for the tent to be placed on. Overall, our experience was great. Highly recommend staying here. Driving through the small towns was fun - Hayseville and Franklin both had good mom and pop places to eat. Some great hikes too. White mountain near Sapphire had an amazing view at the top! We went ziplining with Whitewater in Nantahala and white water rafting with NOC. Awesome adventures with both.
