This campground is absolutely one of our favorites! The only issue we had this trip was due to about 30 18-25 year old surfers who totally ignored the 10PM quiet time and proceeded to shoot off very loud fireworks starting about 1AM. Totally freaked out our dog and kept us awake most of the night. Oh well, the sins of my youth come back to haunt me! Otherwise, the place is great and the staff responsive. My only recommendation is to keep the response number on speed-dial!

Just the most natural and relaxation camping experience. Very quite and deep in the natural dunes.

I hesitate to leave a review, because we love Frisco so much & don't want to share it!
Hands down the best campground in the Outer Banks. The tent spots in the shade, the well appointed facilities and showers (tho they are cold water only!), the easy vehicle access to the beach, and the helpful hosts make Frisco the perfect spot.
The only negative is the plentiful mosquitoes, so be sure to pack bug spray.

Overall, an amazingly private and well kept campground. Next time, I would try and book well in advance for a spot with a view of the ocean. The only turnoff was the fact there is no recycling bins. Everything just gets dumped in one big container. Hard to understand considering our environmental situation.

Overall enjoyed our stay though it is challenging due to the burrs and cati that attach to everything and hurt! Cold water showers can also be hard to take.

Very nice campground. Well kept. Very private sites. From the upper, outer sites have a view of the ocean. It is a NO hookup campground. They have a dump station a few miles away but none at this campground. We only stayed one night due to the temperatures when we were there, but this was not the fault of the campground.

Great spot to stay near the beach! The campground is convenient to the beach, gas, groceries and restaurants in addition to historical sites on Cape Hatteras. Pack for a camping experience or plan to try some of the local places, if you are visiting in the off season plan on seasonal closings. You can hear the water from the campsites, and there are a few with a view of the ocean with roads and boardwalks offering walking paths to the beach. Bugspray is a necessity and know that sand spurs/goat heads and spiny cactus plants are prolific at this campsite and you'll find a few even staying on the paths.
