Great showers, excellent remote location away from crowds. Clean, tranquil, short walking trails, access by car to awesome hikes, breweries and store essentials.

A beautiful spot! There was only us and a few other campers nearby, but we felt like we had own little spot away from everyone. There’s no cell service here which makes it a perfect getaway. The river nearby was beautiful. Let’s help keep it clean!

I think I have found my new favorite campground in Pisgah NF. This is a small, cozy campground with large sites that have rhododendron and other vegetation barriers providing privacy for each campsite. It gives the illusion of being way out there, with no cell service, no electricity, etc but it is not too far from a great local brewery, gas, restaurants and groceries. It is very close to several trailheads with the ability to make endless loop hikes or bikes. The river is great for taking a dip in, very cold and refreshing. The campground is very clean and well keep the north side bathrooms show their age but the shower and bathrooms on the south loop are very nice. Look forward to returning again, my pick of the best sites for tent camping would be #4, #10, #11, #12 and #13, but really there are no "bad" sites. FYI: #7 is across from the dumpster, #8 is across from the water spigot and #5 is near the vault toilets and all sites had bear boxes for food storage. Wood was $10 a bundle from the hosts, but just outside the campground a local farmer had cut wood for $5/bundle or $20 for self stack. Ice is available at the Ingles grocery at the entrance to N. Mills River Road.

Policies & Rules

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
