What Guests Are Saying
Flanners Beach Campground offers a peaceful and secluded environment with spacious, clean campsites and well-maintained trails, making it ideal for nature lovers. Many guests praised the friendly and helpful campground hosts, as well as the reasonable pricing. However, some facilities, particularly the bathrooms and showers, are in need of repair and cleaning, and access to the beach is currently limited due to ongoing maintenance issues.

Cliff area is closed from a hurricane several years ago. It doesn’t look like there are any plans to reopen the cliff area. As a result, the only thing to do are the trails. Some are paved and that’s good. The restrooms haven’t been updated in years and one of two women’s toilets was broken.

Just wanted to clarify my previous complaint we are here visiting the campground again and we were hoping that they would do something with the gate being closed all the time due to a disability it is hard for me to climb in and out of the vehicle to open and close the gate every time I want to leave and return to the park.

I have a disability and have issues climbing in and out of my vehicle my main complaint isthat inorder to come in and leave the campground you have to get out of your car open the gate get back in your car, pull through get out close the gate when they get back in your car to go to a campsite I do not feel that this is fair for anybody that has a disability.

The camp ground was nice and private. We were upset that the government website did not inform us that the beach was closed! But what more can you expect from a government moving to socialism.

A pleasant, low-key getaway campsite. Head on over to the picnic benches and look out over the river. Extremely relaxing.

Very disappointed with Flanders Beach Campground. We camp all over the east coast and this is by far the worst experience we have had. The host was extremely unprofessional, rude and aggressive. She went after my 6year nephew for knocking down the “kids at play” sign. Instead of coming to an adult she chased him down on her bike and screamed at him pointing her finger in his face. When I asked what had happened she tried to ride away from from me. When she came back she then went after me. About twenty minutes later her husband came out saying we needed to leave ASAP (while we were feeding our family). They then continued to call the police on us as we packed up both campsites and left. We paid for a week and was only there for one day. We have called multiple times to get a refund and place a complaint but we still have not gotten any calls back from anyone.

This probably use to be a nice place to stay. Cockroaches in the bathroom both days, no toilet paper both days, filthy showers and the ADA shower was permanently locked leaving only 2 showers for the entire campground. One of the 2 women’s toilets were locked from the inside and one of the 2 sinks were covered too. Quiet time was not enforced. No beach due to a hurricane and you aren’t even able to see the water. You have to open and close a gate to enter/exit campground. It’s sadly not up to the usual excellent National Forest standards.

Love the campground. I grew up near there and it’s great to see the place. Had to move sites because the power wasn’t working right at 16. Really wish you would rebuild the stair to the beach, looks like you spent so much effort to put up fences that the stairs would have been done already.
