What Guests Are Saying

Badin Lake Campground offers beautiful, quiet campsites with easy access to the lake and scenic trails, making it a popular choice for families and solo campers alike. Many visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and respectful neighbors, with several expressing their intention to return. However, there are consistent concerns regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of the bathrooms and showers, along with issues related to parking and management that could be improved.

Normally when I stay at my favorite site in the lower loop of Badin Lake Campground it is fairly quiet. This past weekend when I stayed the site next to me ( a single site ) had five vehicles, three large dogs ( none on a leash ), four tents ( one on a tent pad ), and eight people. They were loud and actually even set up a big screen on the side of a large sun shelter they had put up ( along with the four tents ). They watched a very loud movie on that screen until about midnight. I never saw a campground host, I tried to call a number I had for a Ranger but evidently it is only a daytime number. Luckily it stormed bad and they packed up the next day. This campground is in terrible need of a campground host and a number should be posted somewhere in very large numbers for a Ranger. This is a very nice facility in a very nice location. It just needs to be managed properly. I camp at this campground several times a year and see it slowly declining. Hopefully in the near future whoever is in charge of the park will actually do their job. We will see.

Nice trails. Beautiful lake. It would be good to have a general trail to the lake so you don’t have to carry your kayak or SUP through an occupied campsite. Also, the women’s shower is in terrible shape. The tile is falling off the wall and there is no shower curtain so the water floods the whole room and your dry clothes get sprayed.

Campsite was clean. Washroom and showers were kept clean enough and everything worked. We had a pleasant stay.

The road into the campground was gravel and miles long, but fairly smooth, not overly rutty. Partially shady site was beautiful right on the lake, a half minute walk to the water. Water’s edge is eroded, so about 4 feet down, can’t “wade in.” Sites had some privacy with foliage/trees between. Bathroom, clean, just up the hill next to the campground host, whose site is directly across from this site. Two hooks for hanging lanterns, table, fire pit with grate. Site had shade, and sun directly in the tent/table area. . For all shade, choose the site to the left (if facing the lake).
