What Guests Are Saying
Badin Lake Campground offers a peaceful and scenic environment, making it a great choice for those who enjoy rustic camping and proximity to hiking trails. Many visitors appreciate the quiet atmosphere, clean campsites, and friendly interactions with fellow campers. However, the campground's restroom facilities could use significant improvements, and some sites are closely spaced, impacting privacy. Overall, campers enjoy their experiences but recognize the need for better maintenance in certain areas.

The Badin Lake campgrounds are very well maintained. The bathrooms were very clean. Going in the fall after school starts again is great and it was relatively quiet. There is lots to do in the area. The only reason it got 4 stars was that I could not find any camp wood anywhere. Usually there are people selling it or the park has stacked up dead wood they have collected around the grounds. Only other issue is there are very few sites that actually have a view of the water. Book EARLY or you will never get one of them.

Clean restrooms were nice, but please fix the metal door it makes a noise that reverberates throughout the loop. Also my buddy was missing a couple of items when we left? Could be a forgetful memory but they were small expensive items like ear buds and such? Coincidence? Also had someone punch his tent in the middle of the night and shine flashlight into it! Interesting! Also had a guy on our site down at the lake who didn’t ask to share the spot when he had his own lake access spot. Guess our view was better? But we had great sunrises and sunsets at site 14. We would go back but would tweak a few things for safety reasons. Sure would have liked to see park ranger drive through at some point.

Horrible from the moment I arrived until my wife and I left a day early. Barking dogs, screaming children, gravel tent pad, and generator running until 11.00 pm. I bent 4 iron stakes trying to guy out the tent. I finally gave up and tied the tent to the trees. Campsite 09 had a rusted-out grill so I asked the camp host to move to 14. the tent pad there sloped so I pitched the tent on the high end. The ground at that site was also so hard I finally got 2 stakes in the ground. The Loud couple next to me didn't quite down until after midnight and it sounded like World War three with acorns hitting the tent all night. The next morning early I packed up and moved back to 09. Again, all day long dogs barking, kids screaming and people walking through the campsite along the lake. This is supposed to be a tent only campground. Not so. RVs with generators going well after 10:00 when quite time was listed by campground rules. I can't remember when I have had such a bad camping experience. Will not be back or recommend this campground to anyone.

Badin Lake Campground is well maintained with showers and toilets(clean) but no electric(no big deal for us).My grandson and I fished for two days catching bream from our canoe. The lower campground has closer access to the lake.A beautiful spot.We also go off-road Jeeping in the park. They have trails from beginner to bring on the rock crawling beast levels.
