Campground was very shady, quiet and along a large creek. The creek could be heard at night even inside the camper. Saw one elk and got a glimpse of a bear. Overall a great stay. Research the road in if you have a trailer. Definitely a windy, steep, gravel, one lane at times road but worth the drive in once you're there.

Intimate campground tucked away deep in the eastern smokies. Lots of historical markers and buildings in this valley.

My friend Sue and I have visited Cataloochee CG three times, and we have never been disappointed! We love the smallness of the campground, and totally enjoy viewing the elk in the evening and going on hikes nearby…great location and great CG!
