An overnight stay during the week was perfect here. Going to look at all the historical sights kept us busy. Don’t pass up the over look on the way into Cataloochee. It’s a little overgrown but beautiful.

Ken the campground host was super friendly and helpful. It’s a beautiful campground in a remote part of the park. Soaring pines, a nice creek to listen to, and not too many folks given the difficulty getting up there. Do be prepared for a long winding sometimes one lane dirt road. Be sure to bring what you need as a store is a haul away.

Campground was very shady, quiet and along a large creek. The creek could be heard at night even inside the camper. Saw one elk and got a glimpse of a bear. Overall a great stay. Research the road in if you have a trailer. Definitely a windy, steep, gravel, one lane at times road but worth the drive in once you're there.
