This campground is in a beautiful location just on the border of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The entrance is just a few minutes up the road. Things are a bit rustic here-- uneven dirt/gravel road, vault toilets, non-potable water. Things got a makeover last spring which improved the facilities and added electrical hookups at each site. The new gravel was pretty deep, however, which made navigating the loop a bit iffy in places. If you like hiking, there are some great trails that start here. The campground is also a jumping off point for horse trails and has a large section with well-maintained horse corrals.

Great location, remote and not crowded. However there wasn't water or a dump station so that needs to be considered when planning to camp here. We filled up at the bike trailhead in the campground and later dumped in Medora.

Stayed in site 14. overnight. There was fresh gravel around park and good pads. Essentially no t-mobile service and no over the air tv channels.

A good short-term stopover but the road in is very rough washboard dirt for about ¾ mile...otherwise OK.

Newly renovated and relatively quiet campground, nice and clean facilities, electric plugins at all sites, optimally located at a trailhead as well as next to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, saw northern lights several nights. Definitely my favorite campground in the area!

Very quiet campground. Clean pit toilets. Price is very reasonable with electricity.

Beautiful facility in the Badlands of North Dakota with great horse facilities, hiking & biking trails and wildlife a plenty. Sites are large and mostly gravel but they are on soft ground so watch the weather if it’s wet scout ahead. Electric was both good and bad, new boxes have been installed, 50 amp three high voltage on line (leg) two of 133v line one was ok but still 128v so it kept kicking out my EMS system. The good side was 30 amp worked FI’s but was on the upper range of okay at 126 L1 and 129 L2. Now that said this did not disrupt the trip at all, cool weather so low electric usage made this no real issue at all just something for USFS to look into.
We would highly recommend this campground for anyone passing through the area it’s beautiful, quiet and so convenient. The USFS got it very right on this facility! A+
