What Guests Are Saying
Washington Irving South offers a beautiful and peaceful campground with great views of the lake, clean facilities, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the spacious sites, hiking trails, and proximity to Tulsa. However, some areas, particularly the restrooms and older sites, need maintenance and improvement, and there are concerns about sandburs affecting outdoor activities. Overall, guests express a desire to return despite some shortcomings.

I know money is tight, and I appreciate getting the senior discount, but if some stumps could be removed and replaced with new trees for the future, it would be most appreciated and make some poor sites much more useable. Thank you

I stayed at site #9. I like the campground. The hiking trail was outstanding. The restrooms were minimal but clean. The problem was the campsite itself. Water hydrants are extremely far away from the campsite (not just in #9). This site was extremely unlevel requiring me to use supports for the front of my trailer and both wheels on my single axle. I barely was able to reach both the electric hookup and the water hydrant. The lane entering the site is narrow with a ravine on one side and concrete piers on the other. I would camp in the campground again, but would never use this site again.

Camp sites are very limited due to storm damage in recent years, and trees taken down from camp sites have not been replaced. We'd love to see an investment in replacing lost sites and trees.

Liked the spacious nearby beach, the nice picnic tables with shade, the bathrooms cleanliness, the walking trail, the beautiful view, the friendly host, and the relaxing atmosphere.
