What Guests Are Saying
Washington Irving South offers a beautiful and peaceful campground with great views of the lake, clean facilities, and friendly staff. Many visitors appreciate the spacious sites, hiking trails, and proximity to Tulsa. However, some areas, particularly the restrooms and older sites, need maintenance and improvement, and there are concerns about sandburs affecting outdoor activities. Overall, guests express a desire to return despite some shortcomings.

There is a wonderful and little used nature trail on the far side of campground, where the old campground loop used to be (to your left as you're facing the lake. It's worth checking out!

Your bathrooms are disgusting. For three days, I watched the young woman cleaner back up her red vehicle to the restroom/shower building, open all four doors and proceed to do almost nothing. She went so far as to get a broom out of her truck and then pretend to clean. There was money on the floor of one of the rooms, it was still there when I left after four days. Not once did she wipe out the sink or empty the trash can. One of the days, she was there less than five minutes.
Beautiful location, sucks that during a pandemic you have such poor health and safety standards.

Good campsites, but some are a little "slopey".

Washington Irving is always one of our favorite places to stay. Almost always calm and quiet and sites are very nice. Some are a little tight and may have gravel instead of pavement, but always kept up nice.

Check in was easy. Neighbors were friendly and helpful. Beach area was nice. There was flood damage that had closed many camp sites, but the area not damaged was well cared for.
